Raja Jhanjee got his start at the Hotel Maurya Sheraton in India, including stints at the world famous Bukhara and Dumpukht restaurants and Madira Bar. When he opened Bukhara in NYC in 1999, it was a tremendous success, leading to catering jobs for the Prime Minister of India, Salman Rushdie and Padma Lakshmi's wedding, Hillary Clinton, the Lincoln Center, and the White House Diwali celebration. Jhanjee has also catered food for the crew of U2 and the Rolling Stones, proving his mastery of Indian cuisine and Bukhara’s high regard in the U.S.
